Boasted as the closest golf course to Downtown Charleston
(just a 5 minute drive), historic Patriots Point Links, in Mount Pleasant, SC, is a par-72, championship course located at
the foot of the Arthur Ravenel bridge. A Lowcountry tradition since 1979, "The Point" is know for its immaculate
greens, plush fairways, unmatched service and breathtaking views of Charleston Harbor, Fort Sumter and Shem Creek. GPS equipped
golf carts, a lighted all-grass driving range, fully stocked golf shop, and PGA teaching professionals on staff are just some
of the amenities you'll experience.
Designed by architect Willard Byrd, the links-style
layout at Patriots Point is set on a secluded peninsula, surrounded by the waters of Charleston Harbor. The ever-changing
wind that typically sweeps across the harbor also shapes the personality of the challenge from one round to the next.
The Par-3 17th hole (as pictured) has been annually anointed "The Best Par-3 in the Lowcountry."
It measures just 142 yards; however with the change of the harbor breezes, be prepared to hit as much as 3-iron or as little
as LobWedge to have your ball navigate its way over the ebbing tides, marshlands, and the occasionally alligator to find its
way on the daunting Donald Ross style "upside down" bowl green.
Any golf trip
to South Carolina's historic City of Charleston isn't complete without a round at this memorable course.
